I will be up front and tell you I like light, and quick reads. I always have. I love getting lost in books, but have never been one to stop for a break – once I start I have to finish as quickly as I can. I binge read, I suppose?
This is my book review from December 2014-current.
1. Yes Please: I won this book in a giveaway from Ashley Brooke Designs [as well as this sa-weet mug]! I love Amy Poehler. Then again, does anyone not like her? This book made me laugh, and also cry. When Seth Myers took over a chapter, I grinned from ear to ear the entire time. Many people seem to love Amy, and hearing about her fame in the same way you talk to your own self? Well, I just loved it!
2. Paper Towns: I liked the last book I read by John Green [The Fault in Our Stars], and didn’t even realize that Paper Towns was a story based in Orlando, Florida. It’s set in high school, and I don’t know how old John Green is but he has a way in both books I have now read by him, in sounding like a teenager – in a witty way. I know some people don’t like that, and I get it. But I liked it! The book ended in a different way than I expected. I recommend this one!
3. It Was Me All Along: A Memoir: I have followed Andi Mitchell’s blog, Can You Stay For Dinner, for a few years and adore her [like I know her in real life, ha]! Just the way she writes whether it’s a personal share, or a recipe she just does so in a way that makes me want more. So as soon as I knew this book was on pre-sale, I ordered as a gift to myself for my birthday. At only 250-ish pages, I didn’t know that I’d get enough of Andi’s story; a broken home, consistent weight gain, and a huge weight loss…but somehow it all flowed so perfectly that I didn’t feel like anything was left out. Of these three books, I suggest this one the most.
