I love fresh, fast, Mexican-esque food. I have my favorite spot for each “category” Burritos, Burrito Bowls, and Tacos.
Tijuana Flats is my go-to taco spot -I love their chicken tacos (p.s. TFlats has the best service, in my opinion), and after visiting the Clearwater location last week with the Tampa Bay Bloggers, I can tell you they’re now my favorite for so much more than tacos.
For the month of February, all Tijuana Flats locations are offering seasoned ground turkey as a meat option, so if beef or chicken ain’t your thang, ask for ground turkey instead!
Typically, when I dine at Tijuana Flats, I order a quesadilla, or visit on Taco Tuesday, where I’ll chow down on two chicken tacos, chips, and a drink for $5.49 #holla
We started our dinner with The Tijuana Trio, while we waited for the rest of the blog group to arrive. Since most of the menu items I order come with chips, I’d never had The Tijuana Trio, but I could totally get down on a basket with a friend and an adult beverage and call it a day.
The first menu item we sampled (I use the term “sampled” very loosely – we had leftovers, people) were the tostadas with ground turkey. My mom made tostadas monthly for dinner, when I was a kid, but I have never had them out, and I have to say Tijuana Flats can make an insanely tasty plate of tostadas! These were my favorite meal of the entire night.
When it comes to seafood, I pretty much stay away from it when going to a casual dining place – I blame one bad experience ten years ago for that. But after trying the Mahi Tacos, I think it’s time to change my tune. You guys, order these, stat! They were so fresh, and flavorful with blackened mahi, cabbage, and other yummy flavors.
Are you keeping track? The Tijuana Trio, Tostadas, and Tacos?! Next up: FLAUTAS. Two lightly fried flour or wheat tortillas, cheese, with blackened chicken. #ineedathumbsupemoji
I have my favorite place for a burrito bowl, and they have some legit competition with Noritto Bowl: No + Burrito = Norrito!
We were s.t.u.f.f.e.d. but we still had dessert to power through, people! Cookie Dough Flautas are a real thing, and they’re a delicious thing; warm, melty dough (is “melty” a word? I digress), gooood.
Make sure to visit Tijuana Flats this month to enjoy your fave menu items with seasoned ground turkey (see if TFlats is in your area, here). And since today is Taco Tuesday, you have a reason to celebrate – cheers!
