I first heard about Earth Fare, from a Paleo blogger I follow on Insta. This Earth Fare sold grain-free tortillas, and I was intrigued. But alas, we did not have an Earth Fare in Tampa Bay. I moved on, and forgot all about it.
Then, my friend Robin King, owner of Three Birds Tavern, and Out of the Weeds, the artisan line of salad dressings created as an extension of Three Birds Tavern announced her product would be sold at Earth Fare, I still didn’t know much about this grocery store.
…until this week! I was able to tour the newest Earth Fare, which opened on Wednesday in Seminole, Florida, with the Tampa Bay Bloggers.
I’m a sucker for a good specialty store, and I love that more wonderful small chains are popping up in Tampa Bay. It means we, as a society, want change, and are becoming more conscious of what we put into our bodies. Times, they are a’ changing.
So! The newest Earth Fare, what’s it all about? What really sets them apart from other stores is the list of things they are free from…like any products containing high fructose corn syrup, trans fats, artificial colors and sweeteners, and synthetic growth hormones in fresh meat and dairy. They believe food should be as close to the ground as it gets; “We believe healthy food improves lives. We’re here to make healthy food accessible to everyone… everywhere.” Learn More.
At the time of our tour, most of their produce was not displayed yet, but they offer both organic, and non-organic. They have a station where you can grab pre-chopped organic veggies, which is always a nice perk. Earth Fare’s produce is sprayed with reverse osmosis water to ensure the quality of your food is never compromised. I was very impressed by this (and to be honest, how the produce was sprayed anywhere else was not something I had ever thought of).
Their bulk section was one of my favorites! Bulk flours, candies, grains, olive oil, and vinegar. Plus, COFFEE. It was one of my favorite departments.
My second favorite department, the prepared foods department. You can get one protein and two sides for less than a restaurant, and I bet it tastes better (I’ll have to test this theory on my next visit 😉 ), and they have a homemade deli chicken salad, that was SO good.
I could go on, and on about my excitement over the new Earth Fare, but instead (!), I am giving away a $25 gift card to visit, yourself! Enter my giveaway below – Good Luck!
