Happy, Happy FRIDAY! This week was a weird one. Tropical Storm Hermine has kind of put a damper (haha #punny) on this week, and all I want to do is sleep.
I did manage to have some fun, though! I attended a private tasting at Cask Social with other Tampa foodies (bloggers and influencers) to try some new dee-lish Fall menu items. Cask Social Kitchen offers seasonal menus that change every three months or so, and I love that concept so much. Executive Chef Antoine Ludcene is passionate about his menu, and you can taste it with each bite!
You guys….we ATE. The vibe inside is inviting, but dark with dramatic light, which means my photos may not be the best, but #trust; everything was amazing! If we’re snapchat or insta friends, you probably saw my 1200 photos of this tasty event – I’m not even sorry I overshared. Local friends, this menu will be available until November.
^ I could visit just for that tasty mule, and these two appetizers; so much flavor. Also, why didn’t I know about HUMMUS TOAST?!
+ You know how when you order pretzels, and sometimes they’re hard and not very good? That is not the case with Thee Bavarian Preztel. It’s crunchy on the outside, but soft inside. The cheese sauce made with local Cigar City Jai Alai is an added bonus.
^ I’m a girl who loves protein with her meal, but this decadent pasta with truffle mushrooms did not need it. This was comforting, and I wouldn’t change a thing. Some guests thought it needed more salt, but I disagree. The good thing: you can add that at your table (but can’t take it away if the chef does it, right?!)
Other items that made it to my mouth, but not the camera: Citrus Scallops, Deviled Eggs Trio (lobster, truffle bacon, and avocado!), Italian Stallion Flatbread (not bad, but this is the only item I wasn’t in love with. Others at the table loved it. I think I was just too busy eating hummus toast, and burrata 😉 ), and a Pimiento Cheese and Bacon Toast – yum!
Oh yes, there was also dessert. I don’t even know how I ate anymore, but once I saw this Key Lime Parfait, I knew I was going in. I’m a sucker for Key Lime, and even though I was beyond full, I regret nothing!
…In other news, I have been lusting over this coffee table. Jason thinks it’s way overpriced, and I would usually agree, but I keep coming back to it! Plus, I consider it an investment – we’ll have it for a long time. Plus, it has storage, which is something Jason approves of, and it’s pretty for me (and HAS MARBLE!)
+ The Gilmore Girls Geek in me, needs this Stars Hollow Monthly subscription box.
+ I’m very excited for this weekend’s Rum Festival – I love a tasty Dark and Stormy…so I was trying to find a pretty cocktail image, and then I stumbled upon these popsicles! I mean, if this isn’t how you should say good-bye to summer, I can’t help you.
+ I have paid A LOT of money for pretty planners in the past (say that three times fast), but snagged this at Target for less than $20. It’s very similar to one of my Erin Condren planners, but has more room to write. I have big, loopy handwriting, so I like this a lot. I primarily use a planner for blogging. My best friend has a calendar she writes everything down on (I use my phone for that), so if you plan your whole life, this may not be for you, as it is big. But for me, the size, price, and look are perfect! Has anyone else ever used a Day Designer planner from Target? (update: I bought this for $19.99 in-store, but this is showing for $9.99 ONLINE!)
…Tampa eats, cocktails, furniture, and planners. Pretty much sums me up.
