It’s that time of year where we’re talking about holiday cards. Time is flying! But isn’t always? I’ve love sending cards out this time of year, and photo cards have been our thing since year one of marriage. Some years we’ve taken photos, using a friend with a DSLR for a few minutes, and some years, we get our act together in time, to use a professional, like we did this year.
2017 has been quite the year! It was the year Jason took the bar exam twice, and passed this fall (!!), and he hit the ground running as a new associate at a firm here in Tampa. We’ve remodeled our home a bit this year (at some point, I will get around to sharing said renovations), and we’re currently fostering a pup. That’s just a small bit of how 2017 has been. Oh! And not to make him uncomfortable, but my cute husband has lost quite a bit of weight, and I’m so proud of him. So! 2017 was a year worthy of professional photos, and beautiful cards to remember this year with. Thank you to Shutterfly for sponsoring this post. As always, the text and opinions are 100% mine.
This year, we went with the Glowing Elegant Script, in gold foil, and I am obsessed. Photos just don’t do it justice, and I think it turned out even prettier than I expected. I knew I wanted to match it all together, so we opted to add the pups on the back with a matching background, and envelope liners in the same shade. i LOVE it!
I’m always pretty proud of myself for ordering our Shutterfly holiday cards ahead of time most years, but then there are years when the cards just sit in a box until I find time to address, so this year (and last year) I opted to add festive envelopes with address printing, so that all I have to do is add a stamp, and send them on! I always order 10-15 more cards than I plan to send for two reasons: you always get a last minute card or three, and will want to reciprocate, and that way I have a few blank envelopes with just the festive, return from info, with room for me to write on. Easy and done.
We had several fun photos to choose from this year from our photographers, but in the end we chose this one to send out, because honestly even though I feel like I look so silly with my big laugh, that is pretty much our life together. Look, life is super busy for us all, and there are days where Jason is busy, and I am busy, and we don’t spend as much time together as we used to because #work, but when we are together, we laugh…a lot, and this photo just kind of sums us up.
I created my cards two weeks ago, and received them ready to go, last week, so they came in fast, and are already out for everyone to receive. There are always great deals this time of year, so if you still need to order your Christmas cards, make sure to visit Shutterfly, to see what promos they are offering this time of year!
