Q: what do you get when you go non-stop for two weeks without a break? A: a sick Nikki
But who wants to hear about that? Instead let’s recap the weekend, shall we?
Thursday, or as I sometimes like to call it Friday Eve, was spent at Simply Art with a few other Tampa Bloggers for a night full of painting…I have a fun giveaway coming up, so if you’re local make sure to enter!
For dinner, we decided to go to Cooper’s Hawk. I had been once before with Emilee, a few months back and suggested Jason and I go for our anniversary; somewhere nice but casual instead of a formal dinner. I love celebrating BIG, but it’s nice to just make a quick reservation and enjoy time with Jason.
To start, I had a flight of wine from the Lux menu, and we split an order of the Mexican Drunken Shrimp. Both my wine, and the shrimp were yummy!
For dinner, I ordered the create your own Surf & Turf: Pistachio-Crusted Grouper and Parmesan-Crusted Filet Medallions, with a side of grilled veggies, and mashed potatoes. Everything I ate was so, so good! I am not usually one who cares about the veggies, but they were seriously dee-lish, and I ate them all.
I thought my dinner was ah-maze, until I had a bite of Jason’s Short Rib Risotto, which was seriously heavenly, ya’ll.
…and for dessert we opted to try the Chocolate Pretzel Bread Pudding, and sadly it was the only thing neither of us enjoyed. It was too dry, unfortunately.
Saturday morning was spent with more house hunting, and then eight hours of prep work for Sunday’s party.
My sister in-law asked me to help throw my mother in-law a surprise birthday party. My SIL only told me to start that my MIL loves the color mint…and I kind of ran with it from there, with a mint and gold inspired vintage party full of lace, and sweet little touches. I plan to share the professional photos, once I get them back.
Between the wedding last month, this party, house hunting, and work, I pretty much wanted to die in my bed by 9pm last night, ha.
How was your weekend?
