House #2 in this “game”, was the fifth home we viewed on our first night of searching. The home we saw right before, the owner’s daughter was there in a robe, at 5:30pm, and did not speak English and had no idea why we were there. Her daughter (I assume) was a toddler in a diaper, and that was it. There were no lights on and the small kitchen had wallpaper. The two homes we viewed before that awkward exchange were vacant, dark, and depressing. I was starting to lose hope, ya’ll.
I was beginning to think we were going to need to look in a higher price range to get something we liked, and that did not creep me out. Jason thought I was over-reacting.
House #2 : 3 beds, 2 baths, 1,244 sqft
Year Built: 1987
House #2 had great staging! The kitchen wasn’t very large, but it felt more open than House #1. I loved the dark floors, and the yard (no photos) was decent, but no patio.
Pros: Move in ready (didn’t care for the purple walls, but could easily change), mostly updated kitchen, closet space in master bedroom.
Cons: 1244sqft is not much larger than our apartment was, the master bedroom was at the front of the house and had low windows (which didn’t seem secure to me), and the neighborhood itself wasn’t my ideal location.
