Ohhh, April. You were an interesting month, and really can you even compare to March and our awesome vacation?
+Jason and I celebrated our four year wedding anniversary! We actually kept it low-key this year and grilled at home. People seemed surprised like, “Oh, so now that you’ve been married a few years, you don’t need to go out anymore?”, to which I say, “Ugh, no…we go out all the time”, and really we just wanted some time in our home to cook together. We almost are never home on weekends, and it was nice to just unwind and not talk work, school, dogs, or blog.
+Started working from home in my new role. This is temporary until I have more assignments. I have mixed feelings on being at home, which is funny because before I received my promotion, there were many, many, many days I wished I could work at home. Now that I am, it’s kind of lonely and I still have a lot of work to do, so I just feel kind of chained to my desk at home now. It does has its pros too, though. Just a transition for sure right now.
+Welcomed baseball season with open arms! Jason and I were able to go for opening week and catch a game together.
+Attended the Top Local Chef event in Gulfport, Florida. That was a lot of fun! I was invited as a guest at Robin King’s table from Out of the Weeds (I love their dressings!). Five chefs were given a secret ingredient, Must Thai Spicy Mustard, from the Intensity Academy, a local distributor of Gourmet Sauces, and you know I love events that support our local businesses! Each dish was s.p.i.c.y. but I loved them all. My fave of the night was from Jill Johnson, owner and chef at Mangia Gourmet in Gulfport. Her dish incorporated all fresh ingredients to create a delicious wonton topped with hummus, ahi tuna, slaw and sprouts.
+ Helped throw my cousin a baby shower (she is due in June!)
+Spent loads of time with my sweet niece!
+Took up binge watching of two new to me shows; 19 Kids and Counting, and Southern Charm. Haha, these two shows could not be more different, and yet I am obsessed.

April was kind of a blah month for me. I am not really sure why, but sometimes, an off month is what you need to recharge, isn’t it? April ended up being that month for me. May is already busy, and I feel refreshed and ready for it all!
How was your April?
