Happy Christmas Eve! I think I actually enjoy today more than Christmas – things just seem more relaxed. Tonight, Jason and I will head to the parentals to host dinner for the family, and then spend the night. It’s a nice little tradition we started a few years ago, and I really enjoy doing this every year.
I love this time of year, but I actually loathe decorating our Christmas tree. I lust after a well displayed tree, but the actual task of doing so just bores me. I usually find other distractions until it’s time for the final, small touches on the tree. #sorrynotsorry
Years ago, I loved collecting koozies, and then magnets. But how many koozies and/or magnets can one have without being on Hoarders? So our new-ish tradition at Casa de Crews is to collect ornaments whenever we travel. It’s pretty much my favorite!
We have all kinds of mismatched ornaments on our little tree. I have always wanted a gold-inspired tree that no one can touch. But that’s not real life (at least not ours), and the longer we’re together, the more I really enjoy how each ornament actually has a story or purpose (as much ‘purpose’ as an ornament can have).
A few of my favorite ornaments this year:
…and our card from 2015. This year, as a couple, was our busiest yet, and so last year’s party was this year’s card (ordered from Tiny Prints). I kind of like that we strayed from our typical professionally photographed holiday cards. Plus, we had a blast last year, and this photo makes me smile every time I look back and remember our par-tay.
Do you have a favorite ornament? Merry Christmas, friends!
