My love for homemade sangria is ever-growing, you guys. It is the easiest, and most festive drink you could ever make for friends. I love that I get to control the ingredients versus, buying a bottle of sangria that is most likely a) not very high quality and b) loaded with extra sugar that I don’t need. That is what the fresh fruit is for – sweetness!
Making a simple pitcher of sangria for a party, shower, or an at-home happy hour (#tgif!), is simple, and can be made ahead of time. I just love that the longer this drink sits, the better it seems to get.
In the fall or winter, I like to use a dry white or red wine as the base for a pitcher of homemade sangria, but this time of year (spring/summer), I prefer a bottle of bubbly – specifically, prosecco!
My new favorite, is a chilled bottle of VOVETI Prosecco – I love the classic bottle’s design, and think it’s sophisticated enough to leave out for display during an event. VOVETI is a high quality, craft prosecco; with only 15,000 cases produced annually. So serving it to my girlfriends, feels extra special.
I am slightly obsessed with yesterday’s Peach Crostini recipe, and think those bites with today’s sangria are the perfect way to kick-off the weekend! Make a pitcher, and see for yourself.
