Jason and I are in an adjustment period right now. He’s done with school, he’s taken the bar, and now…we wait. Finding our groove as a couple is somewhat new again. He has a lot more free time on his hands, and with the exception of having a husband who is finally done with law school, not much has actually changed in my world. That probably sounds odd, but I’ve just become used to having to do my own thing without my dude by my side. It’s also why I’ve been a little more absent on the blog lately as well – we’re just trying to figure this whole having time together thing!
Like…what do we even like to do together? I mean we have our standard go-tos, like dining out, making new meals at home, seeing movies. But we’ve both changed in the five years since Jason started law school, and it’s going to take some time.
If you’re wondering what any of this has to do with Costco, I’ll tell you; Jason and I apparently like Friday night dates at Costco. That’s a new discovery for us. We’ve had a Costco membership for over a year now, but neither location in Tampa Bay were very close to us. We’d somehow always forget that they close at 8:30pm, and kind of hustle to get what we needed and get out.
But with two new locations (one is just ten minutes away!), we kicked off this past Friday with an hour long date perusing each aisle of the newest Costco in West Tampa. Initially, I was like, “how lame are we?”, but then I realized how nice it was to just be with Jason, in no particular hurry, checking out the value in a lot of items at Costco.
I actually made a post about it on my personal Facebook account, and apparently lots of couples love Costco date nights! Where else can you get an inexpensive bite (if you want), and just be in a dorky domestic bliss with your person?!
The original reason we even purchased a membership to Costco a little over a year ago, was because we were both in need of new tires, and Jason had found a thread on Reddit about how great their Tire Center was. Since then, we love pretty much everything about this wholesale chain.
Not only can you stock up on quality grocery items, but there are tons of household appliances, electronics, we love to buy our nieces and nephew books from Costco, and they even have a travel agency. Annnnd their wine department is also a favorite of mine.
Both new Costco locations will feature a variety of convenient specialty departments, including a Gas Station, Fresh Bakery, Fresh Meat, Fresh Produce, Fresh Deli with Rotisserie Chicken, Optical Department with Independent Doctor of Optometry, Photo Center, Pharmacy, Tire Center, Hearing Aid Center, Food Court, and Beer, Liquor, and Fine Wine. Members also can save on Costco Services such as Travel and Auto Buying.
If you’re close to the new West Tampa location, OR the Wesley Chapel store, make sure to snag your membership before March 12, 2017:
+ New Executive Members will receive a $40 Costco Cash Card and $55 in coupons – Cost of this membership is $110
+ New Gold Star and Business Members will receive a $20 Costco Cash Card – Cost of this membership is $55
To celebrate the opening of both new locations, Costco has given me one very generous gift basket to giveaway FULL of Kirkland Signature goodies, from their private label. Enter the rafflecopter, below – Good Luck!
