Easy Swiss Fondue

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Swiss cheese - shredded
  • 3 cups Gruyere cheese - shredded
  • 2 tablespoons organic cornstarch
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup white wine or chicken broth
  • pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
  • Kosher salt and pepper
  • assorted dippers and snacks such as: cubed baguette, pretzels, apple slices, broccoli, carrots, etc.

  • Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc

Instructions

  • Shred cheeses. Add shredded cheese to a large bowl and toss with cornstarch.
  • Rub the inside of a fondue pot with garlic; discard garlic. Pour the wine into the fondue pot, and place over medium-low heat. When liquid starts to bubble, start adding the cheese by the handful, stirring with a large wooden spoon until melted and combined. Season with nutmeg, salt and pepper. Keep over low heat until ready to serve.
  • Alternatively, you can prepare on the stovetop in a saucepan and pour into a fondue pot to keep warm, right before serving.
