This loaded Burger Bowl recipe has everything you love in a hamburger; crisp iceberg, chopped tomatoes and pickles, plus shredded cheese with a flavorful burger sauce!

I’ve teamed up with Duda Farm Fresh Foods to share today’s recipe. I love to use their Dandy® Iceberg Lettuce for this recipe because it’s crisp and fresh, making it the perfect base for burger bowls!
There is literally nothing I love more than a loaded burger! But if you want to deconstruct it into a bowl with all of my favorite burger toppings for easy prep for multiple meals, then I am all in. Drizzled in a special burger sauce and it’s over the top delicious!
These bowls are perfect for meal prep (love them for lunches) – I like to serve with homemade French fries but you could use sweet potato fries or omit if you’re watching your starch intake.

ingredients in deconstructed burger bowls
These bowls are completely customizable with your favorite burger toppings. They’re gluten-free, grain-free and perfect for meal prep.
Burger Meat:
- ground beef: I use 85/15 for flavor, but you can use a 93/7 blend or even ground turkey, or plant-based crumbles.
- yellow onion: to add flavor and aromatics to the ground meat.
- olive oil: to sauté onions.
- spices: garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper.
Toppings for Burger Bowls:
- iceberg lettuce: the base of the bowl using crisp Dandy® Iceberg.
- tomatoes: diced roma tomatoes or cherry tomatoes.
- pickles: pickle chips or diced spears. I like dill, but you could use sweet pickles if you prefer.
- cheese: shredded cheddar for that ultimate cheeseburger flavor.
- French fries: optional but adds to the bowl. Could also use sweet potato fries. Make homemade or frozen in a pinch.
- burger sauce: a special to tie all the flavors together.

Special Burger Sauce:
Instead of tossing this bowl with dressing, we make a quick burger sauce that can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until you’re ready to drizzle. It’s the perfect, tangy flavor for this bowl and fries.
If you don’t have time to make your own burger sauce, there are many store-bought options out there.
- mayonnaise
- ketchup
- mustard: Dijon or yellow
- pickle juice
- Worcestershire sauce
- dried spices: garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper – the same spices that are used to season the burger meat.
Can I make this ahead of time (prep)
Yes! I love a fresh and hot-off-the-grill burger but for easy meal prep, these burger bowls hit the same flavors and save time during the work week.
- You can prep the meat, toppings and special burger sauce and assemble when ready to serve
- store in glass meal prep containers and add the sauce to a separate container and pack for the week.

other burger topping combos to try
I love a classic burger combo for these bowls, but if you want to have these on repeat every few weeks with new ideas, try different combos so you don’t get bored.
- Blue Cheese Burger Bowls: Swap the cheddar for blue cheese and add caramelized onions.
- Mushroom Swiss: Add Swiss cheese and sautéed mushrooms.
- Bacon Avocado: creamy avocado and crispy bacon with the burger sauce over iceberg with pickles is such a flavorful combo!
- Fried egg: add a fried egg for extra protein or brunchy vibes.
