An autumn twist on this classic cocktail! Pumpkin Spiced White Russians are the perfect drink to sip all season long. It’s dessert in a glass.
Pumpkin Spiced White Russians
This cocktail is such an easy and fun drink to sip in the fall. It’s also an easy cocktail that guests can assemble themselves. Which, I am all about.
I love hosting events at Casa de Crews, but I’m not a fan of playing bartender all night, and missing out on the actual fun. My friends and I have a monthly book club meetup, and this drink will definitely be on the menu.
what even is a white russian
Traditionally, a White Russian cocktail is made with vodka, coffee liqueur and a splash of heavy cream. That’s all it takes – three little ingredients for one tasty drink.
what makes this White Russian a Pumpkin-Spiced version
Honestly, just a generous dash of actual pumpkin spice blend make this drink a Pumpkin Spiced White Russian.
Store-bought pumpkin pie spice or homemade will both work for this white russian drink.
You could also use cow’s milk, almond or cashew milk, or a dairy free creamer. Please know that if you use a dairy-free alternative, the milk will separate in the cocktail. It will not affect the taste however.
I like to slowly pour in the cream and let everyone stir their own drink when ready to sip; the layers of white and dark, are nice for presentation. But definitely make sure to swirl together with a straw before sipping, otherwise it will taste sweet and then bitter, instead of blended.
HOW TO SERVE a PUMPKIN SPICEd WHITE RUSSIAN
White Russians are typically served in an old fashioned glass, also known as a rocks glass or low ball. They’re pretty popular with whiskey cocktails and old-fashions.
You can pour over crushed ice for a cold and frothy bevvy, but I prefer one large ice cube that slowly melts so I can sip this Pumpkin Spiced White Russian and savor this dessert-inspired fall bevvy a little longer.

What are the ice cube trays filled with? They look darker than plain water. Thanks!

Hi Ashley! I just used a large ice cube so it didn’t water the drink too quickly, but it’s just a plain ice cube (it looks darker probably from the pumpkin spice I sprinkled on top for the photo!)
